October is the month when we hold lots of fun activities for children and adults alike.

MONSTER DOOR CONTEST

The Kirkland Downtown Association and the Kirkland Chamber of Commerce are to sponsor a Monster Door Contest in Downtown Kirkland.

Calling all merchants to decorate your entry doors or front windows from mid October. This will add to the fun of the Zombie Wine Walk for grownups and the kids will love it during Trick or Treat. See our slider for some inspiration.

Judges Janis Rabuchin, Jim Gatens and Rob Butcher will be looking particularly for creativity and effort. Judging will take place during the week of October 23.

PRIZE

A free one-year Platinum membership to the Kirkland Downtown Association, as well as promotions and advertising of your business through the Kirkland Chamber of Commerce and the KDA.

Friday, October 13, from 5 PM, the Downtown will be holding another Kirkland Art Walk at various locations. Don’t miss this opportunity to view some of the best artwork in the Northwest and get to chat with the artists.  You can find more information at http://www.kirklandartwalk.com. Look out for pink balloons hanging outside participating merchants. This event is sponsored by the Kirkland Downtown Association, the Kirkland Chamber of Commerce, Explore Kirkland and the Kirkland Cultural Arts Commission.

Sunday, October 29, the folks West of Market Neighborhood are holding another wonderful Trick or Treat Parade that will wind through Downtown Kirkland. Participants are asked to gather at Marina Park Pavilion at 11:00 AM.  Prior to the start of the parade, puppies and children are invited to take part in a costume contest, so don’t be late.  Be prepared local merchants.  Lots of Trick and Treaters will be coming your way from about 1 PM!

Monday, October 31. After school Trick or Treating in Downtown Kirkland from 3 to 6 PM. Don’t forget your candy bags.

FOR ADULTS (21+)

 

Friday, October 27th. The Wine Walk in Kirkland is featuring the Kirkland “Zombie” Wine Walk!  Participants can costume up in their favorite zombie attire or not if they choose but it is definitely encouraged.  Embark on a walk through participating downtown merchants to sample great wineries and spook other participants along the way.  Tickets are selling fast!
